In a CATV return path significant signal losses can occur between the subscriber's modem and the CMTS: the sum of the attenuation generated by the in-house cabling, by the subscriber-side splitter and by the passive headend signal organizers can achieve, moreover even exceed 50 dB. In this case the minimal CMTS input level of 0 dBmV cannot be guaranted with overall modem levels of about 40 dBmV. An amplifier at the headend is needed by all, but some COMTECH clients do not want to use an outdoor device for this purpose. On behalf of them was developed the HRA120, the return path pair of the HFA. The HRA amplifier is compatible with both COMTECH headend mainframes and can be supervised by the monitoring solutions available in our offer.
